Services
Whitney Point Preschool & Daycare is licensed to serve children in our daycare program from 6 weeks to twelve years of age.
Infant Care
6 weeks- 18 months
Our Infant Care program provides a safe and nurturing environment for your little ones. Our experienced team of caregivers are dedicated to ensuring the physical and emotional needs of your baby are met. We strive to ensure your baby is comfortable, happy, and secure throughout their day with us.
Toddler Care
18 months- 24 months
Our Toddler Care program provides a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 1-3. Our team of experienced and caring staff provides stimulating and engaging activities to foster learning and development. Plus, we offer flexible hours to fit your family's schedule.
3 year old child care &
Pre-k3 -UPk4 day programs
The Pre-Kindergarten Program program is built on a partnership with the Whitney Point Preschool and Day Care and Greater Opportunities for Broome and Chenango. There are currently nine full-day pre-kindergarten classrooms serving the District’s three and four year-old children
Additional Services
Whitney Point Preschool and Daycare also offers before school, afterschool, and summer care for school aged children 3- 12 years old
Before School
Before school care starting at 7am. School aged children will be transported to school via the WPCSD school bus
After School
We also offer afterschool childcare. Students wil be transported to the center from the district. The center closed at 5:30pm
Summer Care
We offer full time summer care for children 3 years old- 12 years old. Please see our rate sheet for pricing- spots are limited!
Our Story
Whitney Point Preschool and Daycare
In 1980, Whitney Point Preschool was chartered by the New York State Department of Education to provide preschool services to community children three to five years of age. In 1989 we evolved to Whitney Point Preschool & Daycare, licensed to serve children in our daycare program from three to twelve years. Infant care was added in 1990. In our early years, we were located in area churches.
In 1993 we built our facility at 2496 West Main Street. Later, community need again supported an expansion in our programming, and we launched a successful two-year capital campaign to fund a second building that opened in 2001. The added facility created an early childhood campus with two buildings on either side of our parking lot.
Whitney Point Preschool & Daycare is a human services agency that provides childcare and preschool services to families of the greater Northern Broome community.
We currently provide childcare services in two adjacent facilities at 2496 West Main Street, Whitney Point, New York. We have occupied this location since 1993 and have been fortunate enough to expand services in the last 30 years. Our third location, "Saving Grace," is a restored parish purchased in 2014. This preserved landmark acts as a community meeting space, activity center, and UPK classroom during school hours.
Our center and extended facilities offer our community infant and toddler care and school-age services, such as Prek-3, Universal Prek, and wrap-around care options.The mission of Whitney Point Preschool is to provide high-quality Preschool, Pre-K3, Universal Pre-K, daycare, before and after school, and summer care to the children of our community.
As a human-centered business, we work diligently to understand the people we serve. Our Programs are designed with empathy for who our customers are and what is important to them. We believe that an early childhood program should provide an environment conducive to the development of the whole child. The educational experiences available to children in our care will help each child develop their unique pattern of interests and talents. Each child can relate to previous experiences and prepare for future endeavors through these activities.
